Fire Risk Assesment

Since the introduction of the Regulatory (Fire Safety) Order 2005, it is the legal requirement that all businesses undertake a fire risk assessment of their premises and review it regularly.

I understand that this can be a daunting task for any one to approach let alone complete accurately, especially if they have no fire safety experience or knowledge.

I have over 16 years combined operational firefighting and fire safety experience, so you can be assured I can help your business to complete this legal requirement. This will leave you with a comprehensive and fully compliant fire risk assessment of:

  • Who is at risk
  • Process or building hazards
  • Potential ignition sources
  • Deficiencies in existing fire precautions
  • Correct type(s) / quantities and suitably maintained fire safety equipment (fire alarms / fire extinguishers etc)
  • Appropriate fire training and drills
  • Appropriate signs / notices
  • Adequate means of escape in the event of fire
  • I will also evaluate your company’s fire manual(s) and emergency procedures including any permit to work systems that you may have in place

Following fire risk assessment of the Building(s), a fire safety management plan would be produced and issued to the responsible person(s). Included within this document would be:

  • Documented fire risk assessment
  • List of significant findings
  • Recommendations on all remedial action(s), where required

In addition to this I will also provide:

  • General fire safety advice
  • Written fire policy statement
  • Fire log book(s)

My completed fire risk assessment will not only reduce the risk of fire occurring and ensure compliance with current fire legislation, but will also ensure that you have appropriate precautions and safeguards in place to protect staff and visitors to your premises.

Secondly, the fire assessment would reduce the risk to assets and increase the likelihood of business continuity if in the unfortunate circumstance a fire were still to occur.
